So, I've been going through the process of learning flash and learning photoshop, so I can create my personal website and a lot of other websites. However, when it comes to learning action script and learning flash, I've kind of failed on that. I'm still learning, however I'm finding it very hard to learn on my own and have been asking people.

What I'm wanting to do with my site is has multiple pages to come up, a media player (that's the big kicker) a page that moved like animation when clicked on another page (basically just scrolling to the left or right). And a lot of other things. I'd greatly appreciate it if there were any one here that could help me out with the scripting, with working with flash and so on.

Thanks!

Don't take this the wrong way, but do you have a good grounding in the basics of web design? Or are you just jumping in, both feet first, and going straight to Flash/Action Script?

I ask for two reasons. If people know your skill level, it will be easier to help you out. (ie. compare similarities of JS to AS or PHP or Pearl etc & so on...) And the second reason, if you are just starting out and jumping into Flash, with no background, your setting yourself up for future issues. Keep in mind that Flash is just a third-party-plugin, and without something else, your website can break without that plugin.

Like F1 said above, you need to work your way up, just jumping in is a bad idea. The links I provided below will help you on your journey through flash.

Where I go for Flash/ActionScript help:
http://google.com/ (essential for just about anything)
http://actionscript.org/
http://flashkit.com/
http://ultrashock.com/

This helps me when I want to know how to use a function or class:

I didn't take it hard. I understand about flash, and I'm not really a new comer to it, but I'm still not as good as I like to be. When designing a site I like to take everything into consideration, however I'm not a big fan of css, html, perl, php, and so on as much as I am of flash. I understand flash as an animation program, however action script is something that I'm not completely fully aware of. I know the basics and can work my way around something basic, but I'm wanting something more dynamic.

Basically the flash version is "just for looks", nothing really than that. With these days, if you're a composer, a musician or something, if you don't have a flashy (no pun intended) website, then you're kind of looked down upon. I'm also an autodidact, and I tend to learn about things on a higher level (like action script) easier than say html. I've always been like that.

Flash, is just something that I'm interested. I'm still going to learn all the basics and foregrounds of web design. But, I'd like to have a flash website, and a text/coded website as well for an alternative (for people who do not use flash, or aren't available to the latest versions of the flash plugin). I understanding that you're trying to get a basis on what my tecnical skills are, and they are somewhat basic but I learn very fast and get bored very easily. So, I learn things fast and easily.

Anyways, basically the biggest problem is scripting and skinning an mp3 player through flash. I know they have a standalone pre scripted/created. However, I'd like to make mine a little bit more intricate than that. I've found some okay tutorials about it, but I haven't really found much that is really helpful.
