I'm messing with a new design here

It's looking pretty good but I have the middle content area absolutely positioned and the height set to 100%, the problem is that if you scroll down the div does not extend past the scroll height.

Any ideas on ways to fix this?

Note: I know I can fix this with some changes to my backgrounds etc. but I'm trying not to.

That's on the right track and I think it might work out but only if the content of the center div extends past the fold.

For example if you click on the comments (I haven't rewritten the html for this yet so it's ugly) before the background wouldn't extend past the comments area and now it does. But it still won't extend past the screen without content "pulling" it down.

hmm well I really just needed to add more content to get the content div under the navigation but also I found out that setting the min-height CSS worked for Firefox.
