NoJive said:When Stallone won for Rocky that's about when Oscar lost his lustre for me.
For Sylvester Stallone, "Rocky" got him respect the old fashoined way! He earned it!
NoJive said:They don't even fit the bill as "Matinee Idols"...at least most of them could sing at least a few notes.
Huh? "Matinee Idols", or "could sing a few notes"? These posted opinions of yours, gives me the idea that you primarily prefer accomplished "Musical" actors, and that you follow the HYPE of hollywood, without ever recognizing gifted actors. Seymour Hoffman, ever heard of him? Here is a recent Academy award winner, who was NOT a matinee idol, nor is he known for his ability to SING. Here is what you have undoubtedly missed. Seymouor acted in movies that ranged from "Twister", to "Boogie Nights", "Scent of a Woman" to "Hard Eight", "Magnolia" to "Punch-Drunk Love",and don't forget his amazing acting-believability in "Owning Mahowny". So NOJIVE, maybe you should re-evaluate your process of opinion to acting. Let alone the Oscars. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ " Overhead the albatross, hangs motionless upon the air " [small](Edited by Zynx on 03-21-2006 03:00)[/small]
