Ok her is the deal, I used a mix of javascript and css to create the design. I used the nifty corners javascript ans well as the base CSS for the basic rounded form. This is a first take, about 3 hours worth of work. I intend to use the site as a portfolio of different designs and sites i have done or worked on. I need ANY criticism you have about it. Anything you feel can be done better let me know. I'm not really good with graphic design, so I want to attempt at impressing people with the code and layout rather than pretty art.

I think you could knock down the white a notch or two. I understand you want it to stand out but it's a tad bright for these eyes. Other than the white I quite like the other colours.

"New Site Designs" . First of all it doesn't 'fit' does it. It takes up two lines where as the other categories are but one word. Then I have to wonder if "New Site Designs" might be better as a sub of 'Portfolio' because when they ain't so new anymore...that's where they're going to end up isn't it.

No bottom of page navigation. I seldom, if ever, run a browser full screen and if I have to scroll up just to get back to a nav-bar... well I just find it a bit frustrating.

Do I mention the jaggies on the rounded corners?

You might want to consider re-wording "Kinds of Web Design I do:" To exactly what I don't know but "Kinds of Web Design I do:" is just waaay to easy to jab at.... if you know what I mean.

"Kinds of Web Design I do:" ... well let me see.... ' I do good ones'.... some very good ones....some have been not so good... but those were a long time ago...' =)

Helpful ... hopefully. If not just shoot me. =)

Not much here to comment on visually, and it seems that NoJive covered everything pretty well. Although I'm not that fond of the color scheme, even if the white were taken down a few notches. Blue and beige are OK, but the gray just doesn't do it for me.

Visual aspects aside, though: the Navigation box is not aligned vertically with the content box (at least in FF). Ah, I see the problem: while the header and the content box seem to be fixed in relation to each other, the navigation box is not, so depending on the font size it may or may not line up with the content box. Let me take a look at the code...

Hmm... I'm pretty sure it's the fact that you are absolutely positioning the menu box. I would use relative positioning throughout and then float the content box. Oh, and you'll obviously have to swtich the order of the menu and the content in the HTML--the menu should come first anyway.

And I guess this is a visual comment: the space between the menu box and the content box seems a little wide to me, at least when compared with the space between the header and the content.

[Edit: Also, spacing between elements should be achieved through relative units, not absolute units. That way the spacing will change with the font size and maintain your proportions.]
