Hey all,

i'm still working on my rich text editor, this isn't a major issue but it would be nice!.

I have a control node stored (say an image node or table node) in a variable.

In design mode when you select a control it doesnt highlight it like text, but instead it 'selects' it as a control where you can drag the corners/change its size and all that.

All i want to do is select the control that is stored in the variable.

myControlNode.select() isn't a method for the node object.

I can create a text range of the control and select the range, but it selects it as though you are highlighting it.

Any ideas?

[quick_random_reply] Haven't played with designMode, but isn't what you want : myControlNode.focus() ? [/quick_random_reply]

it was something i hadn't previously tried and you gave me hope!

Alas, it didnt work .

I saw one site which said it is a valid method to use with the node object, but most sites about the node object don't list it.

Surely there is a way..
