Topic: First New TOOL Stuff Since 2001!!! (Page 1 of 1)

hey inmates, I remember having several tool fans around here
So, TOOLs highly anticipated new Album called 10,000 days will be released on March 2nd. BUT! the new tool single, the first song of the album can be heard already and well...its just as great as a tool song can be!

whats your opinion of Vicarious? anyone else in here who loves this song as much as I do?

Vicarious sounds good, but I dont think it's the best song to be a single. I know they the rest of the album should be great. If you want an idea of what the album is influence from listen to Meshuggah.

na, he is right. i read the same in several tool interviews. and if you listen to new single, you can slightly hear some meshuggah influence...

well...if they do find some influence from Meshuggah I certainly hope that it is minimal. I have heard the song and I really can't find anything in it that reminds me of Meshuggah.

I didn't really care too much for the Vicarious leak. But I'm real optimistic about the rest of the album. TOOL has never let me down .

so you arent impressed by Vicarious? hell, this song drives me insane. its the best one i've heard so far. but yes, I also cant wait for the whole album. especially the last song is said to be one of the very best tool has ever made. ....well just 2 more weeks to go

Yea I refuse to listen to the entire album before it is released. It was blasphemy enough to listen to of the song leaks...

Nope. The very definition of formulaic.

First time I heard it, I got in my car and it was on the radio, somewhere in the middle. I thought "oh, this tool. hm....which song is it?"
Could have been any number of tool songs based on the part of it I was hearing...


Not impressed. At all.

without wanting to spoil anything here...all i can tell you is that Vicarious is actually very different compared to all the other songs on the record. so you might still give 10,000 days a shot . its a very complex, deep layered album.

I wasn't really that impressed with the album at all. I was just waiting for "something to happen" and it just wasn't there. A real bummer IMHO.

nah, its not an album which you can pull out and rock to. you REALLY!! gotta hear it 5-9 times before you start liking it. believe me. it *is* something special. if you like third eye then you will like this album too....and dont say you liked third eye after the first time you heard it.
tool is not a band which does the "more of the same" thing like many other bands do. they develope. and thats just OK.

What?! Why would they pre-release it in any other country but America?

dunno....but i think australia (not austria!) got it even 5 days before america...thats life its been out here in austria since yesterday, to be exact

i havn't listen it to the new tool yet...
my friend downloaded the entire cd and gave it to me but, i must say, i havnt been able to bring myself to listen to it yet.
either its a fear of disapointment [like i faced with the new korn ='( ] or my loyalty to tool [ supporting maaynard by buying the cds]

other than that i absolutly love tool. ^_^

its really worth to buy the cd. the package is one of the coolest ones i have ever seen! (stereoscopic images and stuff )
