WOOT! Thanks Poi! Now I can read the file in Unicode and split up the characters with your code prior to parsing them. Then I just use charCodeAt(x).toString(16) to get the HEX back for the hashes! *sigh* why do I always forget JS can do bitshifting... maybe I don't use it often enough.. Treating it as Unicode all the way does make more sense, guess I gave up on that too soon when all I got was garbage from the file in Unicode... /TwoD
