What is it? Homepage | Wikipedia How Does it Work? On the World COmmunity Grid forum it was pointed out that not enough people know about this to get enough computers on the projects. So I've posted in my blogs and on a few forums to try and get the word out about the projects. These projects take what would be unused processing time from your computer and use it to crunch numbers for scientific research. I've ran over 3 monthes of project time myself on World Community Grid, Folding@Home, and Predictor@home. I've also added my new PC to the projects this weekend to supplement my old one; it took under 10 minutes. I never noticed a difference when I'm browsing or codeing webpages while playing winamp with it running. This is a 1.8 Ghz Celeron laptop. When I do Photoshop work all it takes is a few click to turn it off. Or you can just run it as a screen saver and never notice it there. All information gained from the projects is released to the public domain so everyone can use. Your not doing reasearch for anyone big company but for everyone. Perhaps if we get enough interested people here we can setup an asylum folding team. Anyone interested?
