I was actually pretty fond of the previous concept, but this is quite nice, and perhaps more appropriate to your purpose. Like Rhyssa, I also miss the faded image in the latest iteration. I would very highly recommend any hover effects are kept subtle. One thing I need to say: the "v 7" bit needs to go!
