Lead me down the garden path, blooming or otherwise. This could be the garden as a whole or just a single bloom amid the debris of neglect.

That looks very exotic Ian.
One thing I forgot to do with this picture is to try to give some sense of the size of the flower, it is less than half an inch in diameter. I mention this because I really need spectacles nowadays to see the detail in things. I had no idea of the beauty of this little flower until I happened to take a macro shot to use up the DC's memory before I headed home. When I saw it on the screen I was nicely suprised.

Wow. Awesome flowers, Tao! I've never seen anything like that!

My parents-in-law have a nice flower garden in front of their house, but the daisies are the main attraction in front of our place right now. I know daisies can be kind of dull, but I like shooting them anyway, here are a few of the pics that I've taken over the past few days...

[Edit: Oh, the second photo isn't actually daisies, but there they were, right out in the open. I mean, get a room, right? Sheesh.]

I love daisies too Suho and, it seems, the insects really like them.
The flowers in my previous post are called saxifraga umbrosa or London Pride is their common name I think.
Here is another view of the Osteospurmum in my Ma's garden taken yesterday. I'm always impressed at the way these plants close the flower head when the sun is not shining, as do most daisy types.

And if anyone knows the common or botanical name for this .... well you're waaay ahead of me. =)

You can see by the shape of this why it's called Ladyslipper.

Oh my! A POW I can actually take part in! /cheer! I'm glad I checked here after updating my blog just now, since these fit into the theme so well and I'm getting into taking photos more and more lately.

I have no idea what kind of flower this is. It's a basket I bought at the local store and I really should read the info tag on it.

Some purple flowers that just randomly grew in my backyard. There are some in the neighbor's yard as well, so I'm thinking that's where mine came from. Wish I knew what they were called though. This stalk is lying over along the ground on top of a landscaping rock there.

Same flowers as the second image.

Same flowers again, but this time I tried getting a bee that was busy going from blossom to blossom in the image. I'm not sure how well you can see it, and the image certainly isn't as good as the ones Master Suho presented. If I keep this up, I'll definitely need to replace my digital camera since mine is several years old now, bought back when 2.0megapixels was top of the line.

Ian: Well, like I said, they were right out in the open! There I was, just trying to shoot some flowers... you can imagine my shock.

Great shots, everyone! mas, I especially love your bee photo.

Perfectly timed topic, Tao. Way to breathe some new life into the POW.

Indeed it has been well over a week and time for a change.
Suho, I think a topic from your good self would be appropriate for the next POW. Is that OK?
I've still got a few more that I would like to post up here in a few days time. Great photos everyone, thanks
