For a pity Mozzilla and MS not doing that... But I hear that MS already tries to make their engine better (according to their site they are already using modified engine in IE7 RC (last release candidate). About JS compiler (or semi-compiller): sorry, I think it can't be real. The best improvment for JS I see is JIT (I believe it is possible to make JIT for JS).
