Oh gosh.

I used to "love" this little, semi-free hex editor.
Well, it's badly spywared now, anybody else tried and noticed, or it some widely spread info I've been missing?

On installation, it adds loads of junk programs to one's system, "Ultra this and that", wether you pick those or not.
Which is illegal in most states. A commercial involvement, especially a written one, a promise, is a promise by many many legislations.

Aside of being stupid.

Among horrors, it installs a great yahoo toolbar, and that one is bothering me.
I've made the mistake of using IE tonight and finally noticed both the toolbar, and the "proxy" installed by U-Edit, something
that very stupidly pushes adds in urls I click. Not pop-ups: getting commercials on my homesite even!!

Back to Opera 9 beta, I feel *much* safer and the thing is not bugging me anymore.
Ad-aware is running.

And I am shocked **

are you sure about that ? Ok they try to have you install a yahoo toolbar by default but I guess you choose a custom install and simply sent the things you don't want to hell.

I don't have packet sniffer or any other h4x0r tools, so I can't check your assumptions.

I only install/use UltraEdit and UltraCompare.

However, you can leave Opera 9 beta aside and use the final

I'd had guessed, but am someone who cares very closely for the stability of his system.
Ever single thing is monitored, or almost, and I upgrade very gradually.

In this case, the yahoo toolbar was there right after the setup, I had said no, I dlded UE from the UE site,
and since the yahoo toolbar is up there, IE gets those annoying injections. Coincidence? Nothing else seems wrong, no packets
are sent or received, for example, right now.

It only affects IE as usual. Thanks for the final And you know what? All browsers suck, but Opera sucks a lot less.
Full of cool ideas (and some nonsenses as well).

...Btw, never had a chance to congratulate you for Neja, because I never could see it run prior to reinstalling my pc,
for some reason, my XPcom was terribly buggy on my previous Windows.

And I prefer Opera to FF right now, it just works a lot better for me, eats less mem, and has a cooler ui.
