And so our world turns again with its customary wobble The old bring us the new and the new in their turn replace the old. Time passes so quickly, it is important to stop once in a while and just look. See your children growing up, help them capture a moment of their youth, to remember in times to come.

Take time to remember we are part of Nature, the blood pumping through our veins the rise and fall of the air passing through our lungs. The sun rising and the moon setting. The change of birdsong from one month to the next. The blossom turning to fruit ripening on the branch.
I stop and be still, sitting by the open wood fire, staring into the flames, thinking of all the generations past who, at the end of such a day as this, have sat contemplating their life while staring into the flames of an open wood fire.

When was the last time you walked barefoot in the grass, or sat in a tree? This day is just perfect to forget how sophisticated we like to think we are and just BE
This is what Summer Solstice means to me.

Took the words right out of my mouth. =) Well yes but no... sort of... maybe. I go thru this every year on this day. Probably the only day of the year I mark time by...when it gets right down to it. My thoughts this year were mostly on just what an invasive bunch we are and seemingly to punctuate my thoughts when I opened my backdoor this afternoon...

Just remember you'll never have to think outside of the box if you don't get
in the damn box in the first place.

Oh my word!!! That is fantastic NoJive (and that's no jive ) How beautiful is that? I just can't get over how blissfull it would be to have a sight like that on my doorstep, I'm stumped for another superlative to use.

As you may be able to tell, I am a bit of a Pagan myself and I too only tend to celebrate these days of the year;

They are Spring Equinox, Autumn Equinox, Summer and Winter Solstice. Neolithic sites such as Stonehenge act as gigantic solar calendars which marked the solstices and equinoxes and show that solar festivals have been significant dates for hundreds of thousands of years.
The other four are points in the solar calendar, they have Celtic origins and are known by their Celtic names, Imbolc, Beltane, Lughnasadh and Samhain.
