Hi amsurfer; welcome to the Asylum

A search of the photography forum will give you lots of links to previous questions like yours.

Just click here and you'll get the search that I've already loaded for you.

I'm sure there will be some other members to offer opinions, but at the end of the day it comes down to your preferences unfortunately; good luck.

Hello and welcome amsurfer. As well as checking the links Ian has given you take yourself off to DPReview and have a look at their buying guide.
In order to get the camera you need you have to look at what kind of photography you are interested in. You say you photograph nature, so I'm guessing you will need a camera that can use extra lenses. Another thing will be a good range of ISO (the digital version of film speed).

So decide what functions you want your Digital Camera to perform and using the "Features Search" on the link I have given you check out all the DC's suggested. That should help narrow the choice down a bit.

I can be very frustrating trying to pick your way through the myriad of cameras on offer I know, I have done it before.
Good luck, let us know how the choice goes.
