Spent roughly 2 and a bit hours modelling it, making it up as I go along.

Going to block out the head next.

Wow, tough croud....

Well in case anyone is interested, completely redid the head to try and make it a little more sinister.

I prefer the last one.
Am I dreaming or that creature looks like it's coming from SPORE ?
Also what modeler do you use ?

I often don't see the point in criticism because when I personally make something, it's exactly how I want it and I don't care what other people think.

If you really want my opinion, I think the teeth look unrealistic and both front and rear feet looking so similar is odd.

I have no personal expierence in 3d modelling, so accept my laymen's opinion:

-Are those rips on the back of it's tummy? What's holding it's lung then? If they're muscles they looked better in the 2nd set of pictures
-the spike in its hind legs looks weird.

otherwise, I like it

Modelled in Cinema 4d r9, the hind legs do need a lot of work as they were just a clone of the front with just some polys moved.

Teeth are very low poly objects at the moment and also need a lot of work.

Been thinking about the texturing, Not sure if I should go with a reptillian look OR a more fleshy tone.

Very quick and dirty texture added for the head.

Only colour bump & reflection (for glossy areas) at the moment, need to add diffusion and the finally I will add a displacement map.

Done some more on the head, still got lots to do.

Ignore the rest of the model as I have barely started on those areas yet.

quite a texture job there
the tongue and gums are an interesting color. the one odd thing though is that the tongue
looks like it's created from a red/cranberry satin cloth

Just wanted to keep you updated about my first OpenGL assignment, delivered earlier this year.
The next two are due sometime soon and complement each other.
