Wondering what you might be using to put a self running or nearly self running...slide show on a CD.

Right now I'm using the 'moviemaker' that comes with XP to create a .wmv.... then burn that to the cd. All well and fine with a relatively newish win OS but not so good on older machines that people refuse to update.

Direction please. =)

I've not really tried to make a photo slideshow on CD NoJive, but you got me to thinking "why not" so I had a little search for freestuff that may fit the bill. Sorry I can't be of any "first hand" use but I thought I'd lash up some of the results from my meanderings that looked interesting.

For the quick PDF slideshow I like to use the PS Album Starter Edition thing Tao linked to, as well as its "auto smart fix" photo correction to get started fast...

For more "advanced" projects this Magix app is cool too:

Lots and lots of features for creating photo CDs, video CDs + DVDs with all kinds of transition effects and whatnot - is $35 though, not more than a pretty limited demo for free.

An application that I've used for dozens of slide shows is Vegas / DVD Architect. It's a little pricey but more then effective. I believe there is a cheap version called movie studio from sony for about $50. There are alot of automated features that make it easy.
