This one, while it is indeed a great photo, contains no information whatsoever. It is the kind of thing that is just as likely (if not moreso) to make a visitor simply leave than enter your site. [/quote] I disagree on both counts. 1) again, the photo is great, but the photo alone does not actually say anything about what else there is to come. OF course, adding text would still leave this as an unneccesary splash page that is a deterrant rather than an benefit. 2) your current front page does very much say that there might be some photos of interest inside. How? you've got a great photo as your header image. You TALK about your photos right there in your first paragraph. You have a header on the right handside that says 'photography' and lists some categories. You did this the right way the first time - stick with that! FWIW...
