Yesterday I just started to being messing with php again, and decided to try a database now.

Being this the second time I have started a webserver, I had to redo most things again as a newbie, which means setting apache to load php as a module, etc. After many troubles everything went right, until I noticed I can't get php to load the mysql extension.

I set mySQL to run as a service; it is enabled and can run the console app fine. My php dir is in the PATH environment var. In php.ini I call "extension=php_mysql.dll" (I just uncomented it, :P), and replace the libmysql.dll, to no avail. Try the original file, no luck either.

help?

you restarted apache aftor those php.ini changes, right?

Otherwise, make sure that there actually is a php_mysql.dll somewhere where php can find it,
and then do a phpinfo() and see what it has to say under 'mysql'

None of my business, but doesn't this belong in the s-side forum?

Geez, I feel pretty dumb right now, I forogt to configure the path to the extensions folder in php.ini. No wonder it was never found. It work correvtly now. Thanks a lot TP, I could have sworn php_mysql.dll was in the root folder, but it was on the /ext folder instead, with my php.ini pointing at root.

_Mauro: I didin't think it fit here because it was an issue with the engine rather than the language itself. In any case, it's been fixed now. Thanks a lot guys.

Alevice, no prob, I am a spectator/actor -not- moderator around. Was just "pointing out the fact", I won't sue you, won't bash you, won't bite you or anyone else (unless I am asked for it -and willing).

Glad your problem could be solved - and that you learnt something in the process.

Now that it's here, it's nice to -all- the persons who would look for a similar answer,
and will remain so when archived as server side stuff.
