I just changed the DNS servers for wesleytreat.com to point to a new host and it started working sometime last night, at least partially. Going to www.wesleytreat.com takes me to the new host, but all the e-mail sent to addresses at that domain are still going to the old host.

Is this something that should be unexpected? It's been a long time since I've transferred a domain, so I don't remember if this happened before. Is it likely that my provider's mail servers use a different DNS and I just need to wait for it to update, too?

I want to get started on finally replacing that temporary site, but I don't want to do anything until I know everything's working right.

MX records typically have a 24 hour TTL. So it might take some time to roll that over.

Interestingly enough, mail is now (after 24 hours) going to the new server about half the time, the old server the other half. Guess I'll just give it another day and see if it all works out.

Well, that 24kr TTL is on a per-server basis. So depending on when different servers recieved the original record, it may expire and switch at different times.
