Hi All,

Not sure whats going on with this one... we are using outlook express and when we recieve some email it goes straight to the 'Deleted Items' folder.

Sometimes we also get mail and it does 'Recieving 1 of 1', plays the new mail sound - but the email is no where to be found, not even in the deleted items folder.

There are no message rules setup, so I have no idea why this is happening. Sometimes when people send email it does go straight to the inbox, but not always.

Any Ideas?

edit: Found the problem with the moving to deleted items folder because the email somehow got into the blocked senders list, but the other problem of recieving the mail and it just dissapearing is still there.

I think the point was to switch to Thunderbird.

Well, it is. The problem is solved by it never having to come up again because you're not using Outlook Express anymore. Plus it's the answer to a whole host of other problems that could potentially crop up due to Outlook Express' insecurity and bug-riddled nature.

Changing what software you use is not a solution to this problem... i have clients using the software and they dont want to learn something else. If the mail client lacked a required feature - then changing software becomes a solution.

Personally i have used thunderbird a few times, it not a problem for me but its not a solution for the people who arent prepared to change. Apart from that thunderbird has had its own problems as well, i remember it being quite buggy a couple of years ago when i started using it.

And since then it's had a lot of time, and a number of version changes, to fix those bugs. Whereas Microsoft doesn't fix bugs, they create new ones. And changing the software is a solution, it just may not be the right one for you, or your clients.

Now, your clients, are they downloading mail over POP3 or IMAP?

Yeah i know microsoft arent great with bug fixes and updates etc, but I havn't myself ever had a problem and i was after a solution to the current problem. Wasn't looking for an alternative mail program, just thought someone might have come across the problem before.

Mail is over POP3.

I open my Outlook Express every morning. But this morning I have opened it and I disappointed, because my emails had been damaged. To my good fortune I discovered - [Edit TP: Spam removed.] restore outlook express folders[/url] on the Inet. It fixed my emails for a minute and absolutely free of cost as I kept in mind.

Maybe it is due to your default settings.
You can change your settings to put your emails in inbox sections each time.
