[ ] you have looked at the wikipedia article and discovered that matrixcodes don't have bars on the left and right. [img]http://test.coonabibba.de/random/datamatrix_shot1.jpg[/img] is the real thing I want to parse. Note that the image noise and skratches on the barcode surface etc don't make it easier. I need to find and transform* the region borderd by that 'L' on one side, and the alternating dots on the other one. *(Guess a transformation vector would be all I need to build the bitmatrix, no need to transform the actual pixels). For deskewing your algorithm is sound of course, thanks again. On a side note, "Single pass" isn't quite the same as algorithmic complexity. Yes, your code is O(n * m), which ignores scalar factors.
