Topic: More CSS positioning....

Ok, I am attempting to make my first LAyout with CSS and I've been reading everything I can on the subject. The problem is that most of it is about as clear as mud since I have NO clue what I'm doing. I am however making strides and learning.

I'm working on a layout that should be pretty simple. A div containing a header image and 2 divs. I got it all together, patted myself on the back, and told myself good job Chris.... Then I launched IE, NOT SO GOOD OF A JOB.

I created a dummy page using the same html and CSS here

The header image is fine.....
The white div is positioned exactly where I want it and stays there in IE,FF,safari.... beautiful
The navigation div is positioned correctly and stays there in IE , FF,safari....beautiful

The thumbnail images however will not work with me!

Can someone please give me some insight as to why in IE those thumbnail images will not position as they do in FF?

The other images (navigation.gif, testheader.gif) should be background images.

ok reisio, I read that and tryed to apply some of the things it mentioned but I still haven't got the positioning I would like on the thumbnail images.

I have however got them positioned in a way that"I can live with"

Now on to my next question:

When I linked the thumbnail images and text associated with them it put borders around the images.... how do I get rid of those?

I tryed "border: none;" but that doesn't work.

Woohooo! I figured it out!

ALL BY MYSELF.... I might add...

It was a shot in the dark but just on a whim I tryed

a img{ border: none; }

AND IT WORKED!

I may learn this stuff after all.

But don't worry I'm sure I'll have another no0b question soon.

keep poking at the code, you are doing great.
Keep checcking your pages in different browsers. Learn by messing with it.
