Image Ready patterns are in PSDs, so just open one and it will automaticlly be in the size needed. Photoshop Postscript patterns will also open in PS , so the file size dialog will tell you what the image size is. These are found in the PS folder in Presets/pattterns. As for the seamless pattern, take your sample, go>> Filter>> Other>>Offset, use half of the image size in both directions, then clean the seams in the middle with the Clone/healing tools as required.
