If you haven't seen it (this new beta) you will be seriously impressed. It has dom/html/css editing, network inspection, javascript debugging, and tons more.

This isnt just a simple upgrade from .4 its a total rewrite...

not sure I like the upgrade. I like the fact that you can edit it but I am not sure I would ever use it. I like the other version that I could mouse over parts of the html document and have it highlight that part in Firebug. It this one does it, I haven't gotten it to do it yet

It's a great tool though. I kind of like it better than the Web Developer Toolbar.

Here's a screencast that hints at the tip of the firebug-awesomeness-iceberg:

Wow, that looks pretty cool. It kind of reminds me of... what was it? Platypus and Greasemonkey? I think I had those extensions a while ago, but I eventually uninstalled them. This looks more streamlined, though. I'll have to keep my eye on this.

I've used Firebug for ages now, it's definitely become my favourite extension for FF and I'd hate to have to develop without it, it's priceless!

The following got me to laugh out loud in the office like a nutter:

quote:
As you type, the changes are applied immediately. You'll want to kiss Firebug when it autocompletes as you type against the list of possible values for the property you are editing.

Found on this page

Unfortunately there is no one in this office who would understand the joke... Gosh, I'm turning into a female nerd!!! Someone help me
