The Johnny Reb cannon was a little before my time, but I definitely remember the Battlestar Galactica toys. I had a Viper ship with the missile-launching action. It provided hours of fun until I eventually lost all the missiles around the house. By the time the toy was recalled I didn't have any ammunition left anyway. And Jarts were awesome. My family played Jarts well into the 90s--pretty much every summer until I left for Korea (and probably after that as well--I seem to remember playing during a summer visit home). No one ever got hurt--I guess it never occurred to my brothers and me to throw them at each other. No, when we wanted to throw stuff at each other we used Frisbees and baseballs. I guess we were more into blunt force trauma.
