My bud and I used to use a serial cable for these kinds of things. Came in handy once when we had to move a bunch of files due to encryption and a virus scanner wiping the entire HD on boot (I still laugh when I think about it). We've also been known to use old school modems, but he set it up and I could't tell you much about it. |

Get a cross-over network cable, plug it into each PC... give them both an IP address that puts them on the same network (say, 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.2, both with a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0). Share a drive on one, find it on the other. Done. |

Things like this are the reason I still have my old network hub hanging around... |

If you don't have a flash drive or even a single 3.5 inch floppy kicking around how likely is it that you have a serial cable or a cross-over cable? Unless you can beam IR, you won't be able to do this without a trip to the store or borrow what you need from a buddy. |

You can get IDe converters for laptop hard drives to regular IDE (very cheap), thats another option i guess. |
