just as a note, it really drives me nuts when something like this - a large rabbit - is presented in such an exagerated manner. I mean - it's a big damn rabbit! Do we need to contrive the photos to make it appear even bigger??

I think the story may have gotten reversed though...seems more likely that north korea will be pressed into feeding these bunnies

I don't even want to think about how many North Koreans it would take to feed a rabbit that size...

not sure what that means...
presumably something to the effect that if I let such little things bother me, my life must be peachy and swell?

~shrug~

I see larger issues that present in smaller ways, and these things are important in understanding sociology.
I am a fervent student of such things.

=)

You're certainly welcome to take my problems...I'm pretty well tired of them

Anyway......it's a big fuckin rabbit
And I'm guessing it would be about 3 north koreans per feeding....

Well, are we talking about your average, malnourished, screwed-over-by-the-Dear-Leader North Korean, or are we talking about a well-fed party fat cat? 'Cause I think that makes a big difference in how many Norks it would take to feed that rabbit. It could range anywhere from one to a dozen. Like you said, it's a big rabbit. If I saw a rabbit that big outside my window, you had better believe I'd be fishing out my Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch real quick.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it commonly known that rabbit meat has about as much nutritional value to a human as taking a deep breath? I think a starving Korean would be better off with a meal made from what they intend to feed the rabbits. They might still feel a little hungry, but it beats severe, gradual malnutrition with a stomach full of rabbit...

[EDIT]
And a belated but hearty "LMAO" at Suho's reference to an old fave:

Somehow, I missed that on the first read.

White Hawk: You've got it the other way around. We were trying to figure out how many North Koreans the rabbit would have to eat to survive...

As for the nutritional value of rabbit, it is an excellent source of protein and certain nutrients. Look up "nutritional value rabbit" on Google. One site (humorously enough, "petcaretips.net"--for those who were wondering about the nutritional value of their pets in case they have to eat them) that came up claims that rabbit has a higher percentage of protein than veal, chicken, turkey, lamb, beef, duck, and pork.

Nutritional value aside, I think it would be better for everyone if we fed the rabbit some stuffed North Korean party officials, rather than the other way around.

White Hawk: What you might be thinking of is rabbit's extremely lean meat. Rabbits have virtually no fat, so a diet of exclusively rabbit can lead to what's called "protein poisoning" or "rabbit starvation." That's why the guys on the survivor shows always say that, if you're eating rabbit to survive, you should eat the organs, too. (Except the entrails, of course.)

I love the Discovery Channel.

Yes, the average North Korean is most likely all gristle. Then again, I think the average North Korean has had a hard enough life without being fed to a giant rabbit. I was thinking more along the lines of a very specific, chubby, fashionably coiffed North Korean...
