The whole thing could use a hard shadow ( i.e. black fill with 1-2px feather offseted by 1px downward ) to stand out. The text at the bottom might no be needed. The 'slider' could be replaced by a thumb down & thumb up that shrink/grows depending on which 'hover' area you hover. Or maybe there should be only one hand in the center, pointing up/down and changing size of vertical position based on the user's pick. It must be possible to optimize that and use a single event handler for all the active parts.
