You can even use Flash to show the video, and people will still download it. In fact, I have a nifty freeware program that allows me to rip videos straight from YouTube into quicktime format so I can watch them on my iPod. You can guarantee that no matter what you do, someone out there will find a way around it. Technology is awesome. And I mean that in every possible sense of the word. Try to stand in the way and you'll most likely get run over. Unless you have mountains of cash and legions of lawyers, in which case you'll stick around for a while until you eventually become obsolete. So let's look at your problem again. Am I right in saying that it's not so much that you're worried about people downloading the video, it's that you're worried about people visiting your site once and then not coming back? If that is the case, the answer is simple: just give people another reason to come back. In most cases, this is going to mean providing new content on a regular basis. That's pretty much the only way to guarantee that people will come back. Of course, it has to be [b]good[/b] content, but that's another story entirely.
