Topic: Maths Problem (Page 1 of 1)

I had a maths problem proposed to me the other day by a computer scientist friend of mine. I was slightly depressed to find that I could not solve it (seeing as I'm studying maths...). I suspect they were intended to solve it by an iterative method, but I was wondering if anyone could see an analytic method for solving it? Anyway, the question was:

x^x=2.16E8

What is x?
I played quite a bit wit logarithms and so forth, but I think I may be being silly. As it happens, the answer is very close to e^e^(7/9).

Anyway, any help would be much appreciated!
