I have a friend who, when it's time to buy a monitor, takes along a disk loaded with a several different "tests." Geometry... rendering and that sort of thing. He then scrupulously examines the screen looking for missing/burnt out pixels and where those are located on the screen. Why?.... because manufacturers, generally speaking, have what they consider an acceptable failure rate when it comes to pixels (picture elements). So for arguments sake let's say the acceptable failure rate is 5 'neighboring' pixels.... or whatever... Well if 3 of those failures at dead center of the screen you're pretty much SOL. CHECK THE FINE PRINT. If your retailer says.... oh no problem just bring it back.... get it in writing. ___________________________________________________________________________ "Capitalism hears all prayers...."
