I can see any site on the internet except my own.
No Plesk, no FTP, no http.
WebHost says they don't see any problem on their end.
Friend said he could see my site, but it might have been cached..don't know.
Could this be some strange DNS problem?

this is very strange.
i can see my site if i go thru a proxy server such as the cloak.com
but i can't see it without the proxy.
if i ping the server i get a request timed out.
if i try to use the ip directly i get nothing.
i wonder if my provider has dropped it from their DNS..but i should be able to use the IP directly, no?

edit: and when i do a trace it times out after 13 hops.....my provider says it is my router...but why would my router start to block this ip out of the blue? the site has been up for a year and i have not changed hardware or software..no firewall changes, no anti-spyware was run...wtf is going on?

I had this problem before... I had to manually put the domain(s) in my "hosts" file.

For info on how to add to your hosts file, look here:
Solution for your problem (problem was php_network_getaddress: getaddrinfo failed ) by aniket

I tried that as well...no luck...but I fixed the problem.

After hours wasted with tech support at my ISP and WebHost....one even suggested the classic "your PC must be infected with a virus"...i shut the whole network down: restored the router to default settings, did a hard reset reconfigured the router, rebooted...end of problem.

seems it was a router problem. still don't know the exact cause...but a hard reset fixed it.

man that was one pain in the ass - at least i know for next time
