Fortunately, we don't get too many door-to-door faith salespeople in Korea, especially not now that we live out in the middle of nowhere. When we lived in Seoul we did get the occasional cultist (I'm referring to neither Mormons or Jehovah's Witnesses, but strange little Christianity-based cults that seem to be of Korean origin--no, not Moonies either) come around and try to convert us. It is fairly common practice for Christians in Korea to put stickers on their doors displaying the name of the church they attend (we had one on our door). I'm not sure why this is done, but it certainly doesn't deter the faith salespeople. In fact, it seems to encourage the Christianity-based cultists. I talked to one from this weird cult church down the street who was actually quite polite. He was surprised when I could actually answer his questions about the Bible, and he never came back. On the other end of the spectrum, I had a lady who used to come by every now and then and pound on the door (or bash on the door, if you will). I would pretend I wasn't home (after a while you learn to recognize the sounds of their footsteps on the stairs) and she would pound on the door, saying things like, "I know you're in there!" I would ignore her until I get sufficiently annoyed and then I would tell her (through the door) that I was going to call the police if she didn't leave. I never actually called the police (and, honestly, I wouldn't expect them to be much help), but it seemed to do the trick. There were times when I considered hooking a car battery up to the door (the door was metal), but I never got that annoyed.
