[/quote] Well, that's kind of my point. Are you saying that demonstrators are not "goal-oriented individuals"? A goal-oriented individual is, quite simply, someone who is motivated to achieve a goal. If what this spokesman said is correct, pepper spray will only really work on people who have no particular goal in mind--that is, people you wouldn't have to use pepper spray on in the first place! In other words, I wasn't contesting the spokesman's claim, I was taking issue with the rather ambiguous way he described the perp.
