I made a search but could not find what I am looking for: someone posted a link to a digital art website someday, probably a year ago, and I have lost my bookmark. It contained some of the most impressive digital art I had ever seen, both 2D - which I am more into - and 3D. It had categories (2D, 3D, realistic, fantasy and others that I don't remember of) and all I can recall is that the site was quite dark.

Can anyone help please?

Cheers

P.S. If this thread belongs somewhere else, I do apologise. I started it here because it is 2D digital art I am most interested in.

Not DeviantART or Breedart, right?

Sounds like one of the CGTalk galleries. They have contests broken down into those categories and print books with the winners, runner-ups, and honourable mentions. I can't remember URLs right now, unfortunately.

Okay...

Called CGSociety now. The books are called Expose. But they also have other galleries now that I can't seem to find.

Hmm...

edit

CGTalk resides on CGSociety.com - ugh.

While we're at it I think these links are worth a perusal for some dam fine digital artwork and the odd explanation of style and method. Some of the pages require a little digging to unearth the gems.

While we're at this subject.
A year or 2 ago i think i followed a link from here to an artist's folio that did major commercial work that involved heavy compositing.
For example he did some of those Coca-cola-trailer-coming-throught-the-hils posters but the site (used flash i think) showed how he built them, with source images (like soem pebble patter for a bridge and so on) for everything.

I've wondering every few weeks ever since what site was is.
Anyone know? Thanks.

Curiously yours, crip
