One automating the use of Mozilla and GhostScript printing to PDF, which was absolutely dreadful when it came to configurations. The other using Prince to generate PDFs for a few essays and reports. I must say Prince is much slicker as an option, and works very well. I've also seen AIR used for making a self-contained manual browsing tool for one driver CD.
