Attempt at a site logo - to relate to Nature and Travel Photography - concept with corresponding elements and a very stylized lens behind the text. Suggestions, critiques welcome.

Sorry. I don't like it. But I'll tell you what I think is wrong.
1) the background - use a blank/transparent background
2) the type doesn't fit, it's too big and it isn't stylish
3) the stylized lens is too stylized, it isn't recognizable and the overly detailed earth in the center is just unnecessary and imo doesn't go with the theme

I don't see why you need a new logo for that site anyway. And the one you have here wouldn't fit anywhere :S If you don't like the current logo I suggest you remove the picture from it and move the text around a little so that it's on one line. Maybe add a small graphical element somewhere.

Examples of what I do like:

Another "Sorry".

I didn't know it was the earth in the center until I read Arthurio's comments.

Better suited I think as a poster for a horror/thriller movie starring you know what. =)

I suggest doing up logos in a vector editor - you'll end up with something much more flexible.

I'll have ta second all that... your existing text looks good... maybe a stylized wolf behind or around that... just a simple one liner a la that swoosh we all know

Suho,

He must have removed the image from his site. If you edit his post, you'll see that the URL is still in the post.

I think the forum software removes any un-resolved URLs from posts when it creates the HTML for the page. I've noticed that behavior before.

nah, you guys are just using a browser that silently doesn't display 'broken images' (ie. firefox or opera),
it has nothing do to with the forum software
