hello

there used to be a big map with lots of people in it and your goal is to spot a character (say riding a bicycle, or looking at you, etc...)

What was the name of that map or comic book, ...?
Do you know any such thing (say picture) online?

4th door on the right down the second hall to the left. Only knock twice... He gets paranoid easily, like there's always someone watching him.

Over here, I believe it was called "Where's Wally?" ('here' being the UK)

Indeed you are correct WH...
From Wikipedia:

quote:
Where's Wally? (titled Where's Waldo? in the United States, and Wo ist Walter? in Germany) ...

I found the Wikipedia entry rather interesting. Considering its greater success in the US, I had always assumed that 'Waldo' was the first. I had no idea that 'Wally' was where it had all started...

I learn something new and pointless every day!

It's 'Where's Wally' in Australia, too. I never understood why he's Waldo to the Americans. But, then, I never pretended to understand a lot of things.

This is why I love Wikipedia...

quote:
However the most successful of the franchises, even surpassing the original "Wally" brand, was the North American adaptation, "Where's Waldo?" is a g** f***** who likes hiding from people because he has no f**** friends and is looking for some d***

Obscenities/hateful slurs starred out by me. Yes, I know that a Wikipedia editor can easily revert/undo this change (in fact, I just reverted the page), but the fact that anyone can post crap like this and it will stay there until someone fixes it really bothers me. Or I suppose it would really bother me if I actually took Wikipedia seriously. As it is, I am only disturbed at the fact that there are people like this out there.

Ahem. Anyway, I never was a big fan of Wally/Waldo. He was always sitting there is his little hiding spot, staring at you, and when you finally found him you just knew he had been laughing at you the whole time.

That is right, Master Suhu - he was laughing at you the whole time!

But only at you.

I didn't write that, I just stumbled on it! Be glad I was there to revert before more sensitive eyes saw it.
