I hope you're happy to use REGEDIT? Open a run dialog, and type REGEDIT.EXE (press enter). Navigate to and delete the following key: HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\SystemFileAssociations\.avi\shellex\PropertyHandler Note: SystemFileAssociations comes at the end of a looooooong list of similarly named keys with stops (".") after the word System - so it appears to be out of alphabetical order.
