If you got faults, defects or shortcomings,
You know, like arthritis, rheumatism or migraines,
Whatever part of your body it is,
I want you to lay it on your radio, let the vibes flow through.
Funk not only moves, it can re-move, dig?
The desired effect is what you get
When you improve your Interplanetary Funksmanship.
Er, no thanks disco boy I don't know where that digit has been. It might have been way up the big pump for you to get satisfied. I'm sensing a rhythm and rhyme to your Tyberius jibes. You want to change things and that is good, but why go all "Hollywood" on us if true love exists? Why impose your own martial law, the flag was still there from the last time? It's like, paint the white house black, don't you realise that dis beat disrupts, I think you do.
Now I may be a little high in my hello to you for getting your discoisness and funkisness mixed up, so may I suggest turning the volume up to the maximumisness and kickback and listen to some real funk
TP happens to be the mother, father, nurse, guardian - you name it - of this place
and I crave the electric spanking of war babies, ya know?
...Woke up this morning to some of those beats from the past due to the upcoming "big night out", some event in one
of the clubs around. The theme being the 70's, I am going afro for the next days. With my real hair, that is!
Mainly from the seventies, but rock-funk-disco-soul-r&b-hip-hop, after all, are all milestones on the same "road" (they evolved from one another in this order).
(yeah, it's all music explored mainly by black people).
(.. and about age, don't click the dot in my above post if you are under 18 ,)

If it's Disco there was only one song to dance to..."perhaps the greatest dance song ever written! It is performed by the great Sir Monti Rock III." You only get to see Monti on a couple of album covers.... but this is a great video...
I guess I have to fess up and confess I have the vinyl for both Disco-Tex and 'The message' by GM Flash.... and it was only a few days ago I was listening to Monti Rock. And the reason I was listening to one of the all time great kweans was that for the first time in 10 years I managed to access my old albums and set up a turntable.
I don't have the collection I once had, now down to about 10 feet, but it is a rather eclectic 10 feet. From Mario Lanza to Frank Zappa and everything in between.
Fun thread.... now Get the funk outta my face! =)
**TAO** You've been going through my albums you bastard. I wondered whose boots those were on my back stoop.

Heh, them's my dancin' boots.
NoJive, I've moved so many times in the past twenty years that I've lost all my vinyl in the process. Sounds like you still have a great collection.

Yeah, you're right SW I love all that good stuff, and Jazz is the mothership of them all for me. Although I've just been looking at my boogie profile and it shows my tastes have wondered far and wide over the months.
Flippin' 'eck
Totally wonderful thanks SleepingWolf. I had planned to get my hair cut this week but that has definitely settled the matter I'm staying the way I am, a long haired lover from Liverpool. I think just one more listen to an old version of Sweet Child in Time and then time for bed. So much for my early night.
Shine on
Those who look for monsters should look to it that
they do not become monsters. For when you gaze
long into the abyss, the abyss also gazes into you.
Sure was...the way I heard it, Steve did the following tributes:
Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Dave Davies, and Ritchie Blackmore (or was it Steve Morse doing himself?)
There might have been something (no pun intended) between the beatles and the kinks????
Tao: Don't do it dude. Let your freak flag fly with pride.

I coulda said it wasn't in my way
But I didn't and I wonder why
I feel like letting my freak flag fly
Cause I feel like I owe it to someone

Never heard that before SleepingWolf, I'm letting my freak flag fly for the duration. Stupid idea it was anyway, come to think of it, it was not my idea, 'twas the females in my life.
Righto, one more listen to "Smoke" as I'm writing this and then definitely ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Awesome stuff all the way. Now, I am gonna do something very "work in progressish" as this thread gave me another idea : I have this scriptlet on my site
that "pumps" a video from youtube to use it as soundtrack.
As soon as I have found the hack to identify "isplaying" status of the video, I'll whack together a "broadcaster" snippet
that acts much as the ipod touch interface - play, next, prev, pause, shuffle, sequence, and nothing else - so you should be able to :
- copy/paste some of the above links to a div in a web page
- link my script, and tweak the player images to your needs
And integrate a fully working radio - in compliance with youtube terms of services (free youtube content is free, without constraints
of display size so I reduce the video to 1x1 pixels for my usage) and web standards. How funky is this?

please add the mute and volume controls
yesterday i nav'd to a site (wearing headphones) where the music was so loud I had to jerk the phones off my head....man did that hurt...must have been well over the threshold of pain....100dB.....and I was listening to winamp at the time.
Absolutely, might as well start off with a "stop" and a "play" button OR the volume - just figured some music would be nice on a temp splash page,
but it's not temporary anymore - I also hate it when "this beat disrupts" on the web (who does not?).
*Wanders off to his regularly scheduled Saturday night date, with one of the hotties set on fire
