Dear all,

I have a page, which is in a subdirectory of my main domain(s).
Was hosted for a former girlfriend. Two persons know the password,
which happens to be a play on words in a foreign language - and there is a file exchange area for
photos and music. (photos and MUSIC on a directory which isn't even the root of my web).

And it's basic http auth (Apache passwords hashed in a file, web server gets password, compares hash, and lets people in and out).

Now, we didn't part on good terms with the mentioned girl.
.............................................................

In December, I get visits (not hits, full sequences of page requests) to that private space.
"Someone may be missing me, oh well."

I initiate a casual contact, returned at first, and then... silence.
"She changed her mind again - her loss."

..But as she keeps "no response" mode on, I start getting more and more and more visits to the same web space.

Google reports 0 backlinks for this page.
.............................................................

Anybody has a technical explanation? Or should I really label that girl a "motivated ex" and expect
the regular visits for the next months?

check the contens - chance are you know are an official warez zone.

Otherwise: Spying on your exes is wrong. You should've changed the password long ago...

I will check - but no warez on my domain as a rule of thumb (one song, non commercial version, and romantic photos of Europe, all non searchable because
of basic auth) -
and I removed the front page a while ago, never thought anyone would care to fiddle and find the "transfer" subfolder - hence the security dilemma,
I still have a hard time at believing what I see. Oh well.
