..Is ready for download, with all images, the php source, instructions, etc. Everything it takes to run it as in :
Ipod touch like music player based on Ajax/youtube

With your custom playlist(s) (or anything else you feel like customizing).

Nothing big, but I like music, and music integrated in a proper and accessible web player should not hurt
(instead of the classic myspace kind of direct youtube links).

Known Issues and future changes :
-------------------------------------------------------------------
- integration with swfobject (removal of the object markup)
- removal of all the extra markup in the body of the page, with the exception of the playlist
- activation of the "loop" controls
- fix of the "prev" feature
- fix of the casual "dragevent" issue

So in the end, it will become really straightforward as in "copy paste style and script tages, edit playlist".
It works in IE7, Op9+, Safari 3+, Konqueror 3+, and Firefox 2+ - with the Flash player (tested on Flash player 9.0).

I am releasing it now, for I won't be able to alter the code in the next days.
Sue my lady about that (you should, she's too good to be true).

Cheers,

poi

Neat but I really miss a cursorointer; on the active elements, and loath inline style declarations

Righto, thanks a bunch.

- corrected the inline styles issue
- all bug reports like this are pure gold to me

I will keep reading them all and fix that drag/drop issue(s) (fix them all at once I mean), but I just seriously don't want to commit to delays and disappoint -
lifelifelife, you know how it goes..
The thing has a home where the code is finally (somewhat) readable and fully available, making for a good example of Flash/Ajax for
the time being - rest assured that bug reports will be treated as deserved - eg turned into fixes asap.

(Side note : I didn't make it as easy as copy/pasting the youtube "watch video" links - that would work, but some videos
are meant to be watched and not embedded, so if I provide a way to embed them, I am violating the youtube terms of services and that's not cool)

just to confirm what mas said...

about the drag and drop in the previous version ... the drag worked ... drop didn't because the knob was always ~10 pixels to the left of the cursor ... so it kind of didn't release
and yes in this version the knob doesn't work at all
(I use FF2)

I think it's a matter of event bubbling
Combined with some css quirk. Bottom line : revise the whole implementation of the slider/volume thing, but firstly, I'd love
to know the answer to the question linked above, if anyone has encountered the same problem (I remember I have in the past, I just can't put
my hands on the fix right now).

I'll probably be part of the 20 liners, but that's as much js as I will be able to deliver for january, still, *what I said above about feedback,
thanksuseful and all of that "

Frontdoor release thing works, have found the origin of the issue regarding the volume problem in standalone mode :
