Not bad.

About 2 months ago my 17" Powerbook (about 3.5 y/o) stopped turning on. I took it in to my local Apple Store for repair and about a week later I was charged $310 for it. To make a long story short it would work for a few days and then fail to turn on again. Yesterday marked the fourth time I was taking it back since originally taking it in after Thanksgiving. After looking at it for about 45 minutes and running various diagnostics, they offered me the brand new MBP.

How sweet is that? I take back everything negative that I've said about the company ...

why did they charge you $310. Didn't you have a waranty ?

I did not. APP extends the warranty an additional 2 years for $349 but I never bought it. In hindsight I suppose that was for the best. My extended coverage would have ran out months ago.

And I'd be tempted to take back some of the things I've said about you, somebody
who owns a Mac can't be as bad as it seems.

(although it never hurts to get the facts before forming an opinion)

FWIW

I'd even swing that way (Mac) for ~$300 at that spec... what's that, about a fiver in real money?
