(i know it was just a beta, but it was closed beta and downloading it via torrent was illegal. i was so curious about it so i just couldnt resist...) a lady answered the phone and asked me from where i got my copy of vista. i told her that i downloaded it [i]somewhere[/i] from the internet. she was very friendly and gave me a serial afterwards. i know this was certainly an exception due to the beta version, but try calling microsoft. the call is completely anonymous (if you dont trust them you can still call from a phone booth), they wont ask you where you live or want to know your name. maybe you can work something out with them. if they say "sorry, cant help you" you can still look for a serial in the internet.
