A working link to Wikileaks

This is in response to A comparative Study of Internet Censorship

A U.S. court's recent order to block access to anti-corruption site Wikileaks.org has led to a temporary disabling of the Domain Name of www.wikileaks.org.

This is really unheard of.

Since the actual person(s) involved in the case are not in the US (and are outside of US jurisdiction) AND that the location of Wikileaks is also outside of US jurisdiction (being located in Sweden), a Judge ruled to temporarily disable the DOMAIN NAME!

That is just unbelievable.

Of all the stupid, inane things I have heard of, this one really is up there. Go ahead, you moron of a Judge, pour more fire on the Domain Name server controversy!

I mean, it is not like it is shutting down Wikileaks, nor preventing anyone from going through other routes to access it!

Amazing(ly stupid), thanks for bringing this up.
Anything to do to re-enable the domain name, or force the ruling to unfold differently?

Since the Domain Server is in the US, it is the ONLY thing that is within the jurisdiction of the US legal system.

So...technically, the Judge can do something like this under the law.

That is what is so stupid and moronic about this.

The type of backlash these types of things can have, can be enormous. The Domain Server location has been a point of contention between the US and other countries for awhile, with the US always saying that they "would act responsibly" - well, one can see just how "responsible" that really is.

Just adds more fuel for the fire.

I am not sure how things are going to progress legally speaking. It has been reduced from a permanent to a temporary ban by the Judge.

Sometimes, something happens that somehow restores ones faith in things.

Wikileaks restraining order a failure, judge says

Gotta love it!
