Though I must say, [url=http://www.7-zip.org/]7-Zip[/url] (it's free and open source) is much better for this. Using archives allows them to be portable, that may or may not be what you want. I know Windows XP has some sort of folder protection, but I'm not too sure on how it works. I never used it.
