Hi Gurus

I'd like to install some solution on my server to be able to hande file transfers between me and my customers in a better and easier way then using FTP with on single login.

I'm looking for some kind of web based FTP Interface, with (and that's important) a usable i.e. easy-to-administer interface for managing different users with different rights (read and/or write access) for different directories! maybe even with time-frame-based user accounts (i.e. autom. deactivation after a specified periiod of time)

The system should support multi-file upload, maybe thumbnails and also important: very large files!

I searched for a couple of Systems but could not find a really stunning one wich was state of the art.

So, maybe someone of you guys has an idea !?

Thanks, appreciate your help.
Florian

Looking for free stuff? Or do you have a budget? I know on hotscripts there were some PHP based file management solutions that looked nice when i was looking for something similar, but were out of my budget range of $0 =)

well, I've been using Jupload for java based browser uploads (with progress bar),
but you'd have to build all the user stuff around it yourself. (not difficult in php, but no 'turn-key'-solution either).

So long,

Thanks Tyberius,
I've been looking at JUpload too, and came to the point that it does not have the crutial user management...

@Nathus: Yes, we certainly do have a budget (not defied yet) but we'd be able to spend some money for a professional turnkey solution....

Thanks, Florian

Perhaps Alfresco would be worth a look?

http://alfresco.com/

Might well be overkill-ish for your needs, though, as it's more of a document manager and sharepoint competitor
