Here's the skinny on my gear. Canon EOS 400D. Lenses, Canon EFS 18-55mm, Canon zoom EF 75-300mm. I also used a macro lens attachment. I can't think of the correct name. They screw fit on the front of the lens like a filter, purporting to magnify 2, 5 or 10 times. They do make a slight magnification but not sure if they are worth the money. I've had the Sundew or Drosera capensis on a sunny south facing window ledge for a couple of months now getting it acclimatised to going outside. The day I took the photo was very sunny so the lighting was great. Instead of using a tripod I used a little bean bag on top of a book or two to get to the right height. I then turned off auto focus and manually focussed to the closest possible range. Then I moved the camera on the bean bag for support as close as I could to the subject while looking through the viewfinder till it came into sharp focus. I then used a cable release to get the shot, I've found this to be best for this kind of photo I was looking at your site the other day Arthurio and I think we have a similar camera set up. Thanks for passing the POW my way. You can find the next episode of POW here. [30299]
