I've worked with the some of the guys behind this on a couple of other things in the past, and they're very motivated :) I mean, don't forget, this is in a similar vein to the wine project, except even more ambitious. Wine is barely out of alpha, so it's hardly surprising that these guys haven't got to the beta stage yet! Nevertheless, I'm sure they will. Try it out; it's really incredibly advanced, and of course you can boot it from CD etc. And I don't think they need to be worried about microsoft. They had a fright a while ago, hence the audit, but they are very careful to do everything in a clean-room fashion.
