![]() For sans-serifs, I'm in favour of Tahoma and Trebuchet myself, they are far better than Helvetica or clones such as Arial or the similar but considerably wider Verdana. For serifs, Georgia beats everything. |

![]() Helvetica on macs, or the helv clone on unix I think. It was *the* most used font in advertising 1950-2000 (to the point that if you add together ALL other fonts, Helvetica would still be still the most used *in advertising*). I guess it's being replaced by other fonts in this windows-centric age (the Arial font is the Windows side clone, but it isn't a direct clone and isn't considered even close to as nice by most advertising firms), but it's quite an important font historically. |
